Develop your dog's everyday practical skills to make life easier and more enjoyable for both you and your dog.
Whether you're working on loose-lead walking, recall or calmer greetings, training can help you build clear communication, strengthen your relationship and help your dog navigate everyday situations with greater confidence.
My approach uses reward-based, welfare-centred training, with practical exercises tailored to your dog's needs and your daily life.
Areas of support may include:
Loose-lead walking and comfortable lead skills.
Recall and engagement around distractions.
Calm greetings with people.
Settling at home and in suitable public settings.
Useful everyday cues, such as Wait, Stay, Sit etc.
Reducing jumping up and counter-surfing through management and reinforcement.
Building focus around everyday distractions.
Enrichment and mental stimulation.
Generalising skills across different environments.
What's included?
1. Free 15-minute introductory call
An opportunity to discuss your priorities, identify the skills you'd like to work on and establish whether this package is suitable for your dog.
2. Three 30-minute practical training sessions
Sessions will focus on your individual goals, with practical coaching to help you understand how to teach and reinforce the skills your dog needs. We'll work at a pace that suits your dog and build on their existing abilities.
3. Individualised training plan
You'll receive a tailored plan outlining the exercises we cover, how to practise them between sessions and how to progress gradually as your dog learns.
4. Two months of ongoing support
Your package includes two months of follow-up support via telephone or video call, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance as you practise at home.
This support is intended to help you work through the agreed exercises. It does not include unlimited appointments or continuous availability, and arrangements for contact will be agreed at the outset.
Appointments and travel
This package is primarily delivered through in-person practical training, allowing me to coach you and your dog as you work on your chosen goals.
Home visits and in-person appointments are available within approximately 10 miles of Gainsborough, subject to suitability and availability. Additional travel charges may apply for appointments beyond this area and will be agreed before booking.
Telephone and video sessions may be available where appropriate, although some practical skills are best developed in person.
Is this the right package for my dog?
Everyday Dog Skills is designed for owners who want to develop their dog's training and improve everyday life together.
If your dog is experiencing significant fear, anxiety, reactivity or other complex behavioural difficulties, Behaviour and Welfare Support may be more appropriate. If you're unsure which service would best suit your dog, we can discuss this during your free introductory call.
